About Me.

Anzhela Hovhannisyan is a professional modern and baroque violinist born in Yerevan, Armenia. She is currently based in Brussels, Belgium.

Laureate and Special Prize Winner of Republic and International Competitions, Has been awarded with Golden Medal by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republic of Armenia.

Founder of Otri Trio - ensemble of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra Founder of Iris Ensemble - Early Music Ensemble (Brussels, Belgium)

Participated in various international music festivals such as “Musicorum”, “Musiq3”, “Hulencourt” (Brussels, Belgium), “Odessa Classics” (Ukraine), “Pietrasanta in Concerti” (Pietrasanta, Italy), “Bayreuther Osterfestival” at Gewandhaus (Leipzig, Germany), “Caucasus Festival” at Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg, Germany), “Malta International Festival” (Valletta, Malta), “Beethoven Easter Festival” (Warsaw, Poland), “Khachaturian International Festival” (Yerevan, Armenia), “Midem Festival” (Cannes, France), “Al Bustan” (Beirut, Lebanon).

She studied with Eduard Tadevosyan, Lucie Robert, Anton Martynov, Mira Glodeanu and Benoit Douchy.

She has been specialised in both modern and baroque violins.

Bachelor degree Mannes College of Music (NYC, USA), Royal Conservatory of Mons (Belgium)

She is a freelancer at La Monnaie Orchestra (Belgium). She works at Mannheimer Philharmoniker (Germany). Former violinist at the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra (Armenia).
