About Me.
Jennifer fell in love with the double bass and played her first tones at the age of 8 years. A few years later started her studies at the high school of Codarts, Rotterdam with professor Peter Leerdam. Here she continued her bachelor's degree with a year for the Erasmus Exchange+ program at the CSNDM in Lyon with Cédric Carlier and François Montmayeux.
With a complete VSB fund grant she continued her master's education with Korneel Lecompte at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Here she discovered the violone and the baroque double bass. She graduated with distinction in 2019. Afterwards she also obtained the Master's degree in Education in the Performing Arts.
Jennifer has played in various productions by the NJO, Metropole Academy, Academy of the National Orchestra Belgium and opera house De Munt, Antwerp Philharmonic Orchestra, Antwerp Camerata and the Dutch National Opera.
(In addition to playing in productions, she founded INNSÆI together with Lieve De Sadeleer and Laura Lenhardt. The ensemble mixes voice, double bass and live electronics and explore the boundaries of soundscapes, poetry and up beat songs.)
Jennifer has a French double bass bow from Daniel ter Berg on loan from the collection of The Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation.
